This is something which has annoyed the bjeebus out of me ever since I started using XP -- no matter what I do, or what I try and I'm no neophyteI can never ever get more than one FireWire device to be recognised by XP. My Macs can all daisychain FireWire drives, Windows can handle more than one FireWire drive without complaint, Windows 7 also has no problems. It is only XP. Going back to Windows is not an option as much of my software primarily music creation was written wd my book ieee 1394 sbp2 device bit XP.

Formatted the drive according to Win7 instructions, still slowed right down. When I raised a support ticket with WD themselves, all they did was to send me links showing how to zero format the drive. When I progressed to the point of selecting the backup image to be verified I received the message that the file was not a T I Archive file!!
I have submitted details of my problem to WD's Support as I feel there is something wrong with the drive rather than T I which I feel is a first class piece of software.
